ENG 212 Technical Writing

3 credits

Introduces principles, mechanics, and style of professional technical writing. Students learn to apply concepts of information design to print and electronic documents. Assignments may include workplace correspondence, reports, proposals, technical procedures and manuals, and oral presentations. Research assignments will use APA or other appropriate documentation styles. Students who take this course cannot also receive credit for ENG 210 or ENG 215. Satisfies Core Curriculum requirement for 200-level writing skills course for select majors.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 152 or equivalent and sophomore standing.
