FSIS 650 Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Firewalls, Auditing

This course offers an exploration of the network forensic components responsible for detecting, blocking and tracking network intrusions. Students will learn how to configure IDS, firewalls and network analysis tools to protect network resources. Steps in recovering digital forensic evidence from these devices will be examined. The various categories of IDS, firewall and network analysis products will be compared and evaluated.

Prerequisite(s): FSIS 600 OR a passing score on the FSIS 600 Assessment OR approval of the program coordinator.
