Academic Advising

Academic advisement allows students to plan University experiences and coursework to better achieve personal and career goals. Each student is assigned an academic advisor who specializes in the selected major program. In addition, each student is assigned to a student support coordinator based upon the selected major program. Student support coordinators assist in course scheduling. Academic advisors are a source of information about their respective disciplines and areas of interest or experience. Although it is the responsibility of the student to fulfill all requirements for graduation, the academic advisors and student support coordinators are experts who can provide background knowledge and information to assist the student's own decision-making.

All students are strongly encouraged to consult with their academic advisor and/or student support coordinator at least once each semester. Academic advisors and student support coordinators can also provide assistance to accelerated students as they plan schedules based on the sequence of what courses will be offered.
