CHEM 110 Foundations of General, Organic and Biochemistry

4 credits, Fall and Spring

Introduces the basic concepts of general chemistry, including atomic structure, chemical reactions, solutions, acid base chemistry and nuclear chemistry; organic chemistry, including basic functional groups and reactions; and biochemistry, including the composition and properties of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. Case studies and medical connections apply the chemistry learned to nursing applications. Laboratory included.
