Chemistry Program Outcomes

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, graduates will be able to

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory techniques and the use of instrumentation.
  3. Analyze and solve problems in chemistry.
  4. Search, read, and interpret current chemistry literature.
  5. Independently plan and execute experiments.
  6. Interpret an experiment expressing the results in clearly written laboratory reports and in oral or poster presentations.
  7. Demonstrate safe laboratory skills.
  8. Maintain an accurate and complete laboratory notebook.
  9. Collect and report data honestly and ethically.
  10. Recognize and act upon the need for continuing education.
  11. Demonstrate professional conduct and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  12. Evaluate scientific discovery in terms of its scientific merit and its ethical, societal, and global implications.
