VCD 221 Design Theory II: Type and Image

This course will be offered for the last time Spring 2013..
Applies knowledge and skills introduced in previous design courses to more complex problems. The power of words and images to clarify and alter each other’s meanings is explored. Strategies for using type, photography, and illustration to enhance and clarify specific concepts are introduced. Emphasis is placed on creativity, visual structure, and clear communication. Intermediate computer production techniques are introduced. Course includes studio and lecture. Students will need to purchase supplies/materials for this course.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of "C" or better in VCD 206 and VCD 220
