MGT 235 Introduction to Sport Management
3 credits, Fall and Spring
Examines the similarities and differences in managing sport organizations in five different sport-related industries -- professional sport teams; college and secondary athletic departments; recreational sport facilities; exercise and fitness facilities; and individually owned companies. Each type of organization is studied to determine how the industry's focused structure and mission relate to the organizational design, planning, decision-making process, budget, human resource and operational requirements, and governance.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of "C-" or better in MGT 204
