ANTH 325 Folklore in Modern American Life 3 credits, Fall or Spring (offered as needed) Examines folklore as part of expressive culture within modern American life. Students collect and analyze different categories, including some of the following: jokes, games, material arts, folk songs, personal narratives, legends, and festivals. Readings include articles on the study of folklore, collections of folklore, and analyses representing interdisciplinary perspectives. Prerequisite(s): ENG 152 and third-year status |
